The Morgan Library and Museum

We had a chance to stop by at The Morgan Library and Museum yesterday and I had my camera with me, so I finally got a chance to capture some of Renzo Piano's excellent renovation job from 2006 and discovered some unexpected things like the spectacular ceiling done by Samuel Yellin in the annex. Take a look here.

Vietnam and Hong Kong phtos

We just got back from a two-week trip to Vietnam and Hong Kong.  Thanks to Cuong Pham for inviting us to travel with him on a chef's tour of Vietnam.  We were traveling, amongst others, with chefs Stuart Brioza, Brian Caswell, Edward Lee, and Paul Qui, so there was a lot of cooking and a lot of eating involved.  We pretty much continued the eating trend on our own in Hong Kong, where my wife was one of the three judges for the Man Asian Literary Prize.  Congrats to Tan Twan Eng, who took home the prize.

I have an extensive photo set from both Vietnam and Hong Kong legs of the trip.

Vietnam

Hong Kong

The Vietnam photo set, here, consists of 5 sections: Selects (my faves), Chefs, Food (the raw and the cooked), People (other non-chefs we were with for portions), and Architecture and Nature.  We traveled to Phu Quoc, Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City) and Da Nang.

The Hong Kong set, here, consists of 6 sections: Art Shots (shots of a personal nature that I am fond of and a set of abstract architectural shots of Hong Kong buildings that fascinated me), People that I found interesting, General shots, Street Art, a few photos from the Man Asian Literary awards dinner and reception, and lastly some lighthearted shots of Monique and me.
